“You spent fifteen grand to finger girls??” Roger yelled.

“It’s not fingering…”

We were on our way to a New Year’s Eve party. A drag queen on the sidewalk laughed as we walked by.

I convinced Roger to come out early to a singles party, on recommendation from my dating coach. A singles party is a gathering with an equal gender ratio and people who don’t say “Sorry I have a boyfriend.”

“Roo, you’re already late on rent every other month. How the hell do you have fifteen grand??”

“Well, she discounted it to eleven… and I’m putting it on a zero APR credit card so…”

“Bro. It’s a slippery slope.”

“That’s what you said about coke. And look I’m fine.”
